Mr. Walk was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on May 4, 1956.
Thomas Walk graduated in 1978 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with distinction, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Wake Forest University in 1981.
He gained admittance to the Virginia bar in 1981, the U. S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia in 1982, and in 1985 was admitted to practice in the U. S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit.
He is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (Family Law Section), the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and the Roanoke Valley Family Law Collaborative Practice Group. He serves on the Board of Directors for Clinch Independent Living Services, Inc. and the Bluefield Baseball Club, Inc. He is a member of the Tazewell Lions Club.
His reported cases include Stacy v. J. C. Montgomery Ins. Corp., 235 Va. 328, 367 S.E. 2d 499 (1988); Crabtree v. Crabtree, 17Va.App.81, 435 S.E. 2d 883 (1993); and Rogers v. Damron, 23 Va. App. 708, 479 S.E.2d. 540 (1997).
